Happy International Women's Day


Women in Nigeria have been described as ‘heroines’ of the nation, who are equally peace makers and bridge builders that have contributed immensely to Nigeria’s progress and peaceful co-existence. First Lady, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan who felicitated with women nationwide and praised Nigerian women as the world celebrate the International Women’s Day, paid tribute to their strength and resourcefulness urging Nigerians to assist in the removal of impediments that have posed challenges to the progress and development of women and the girl-child.
Dame Patience Jonathan, according to a Special Assistant to the President on Media, Mr Ayo Osinlu matters attached to her office, takes advantage of the day to thank President Goodluck Jonathan for being gender sensitive and for making good his electoral promises by appointing 13 female Ministers into his cabinet, the largest in the history of Nigeria.
